G'Day all,

Long time reader, rare poster (not much to say that hasn't been said normally)

A little help would be much appreciated.

I closed my door and it sounded like it struck something, like the seat belt clip hanging out of the cabin, etc. I looked down, all was clear, I even checked the latch, but I guess not enough. I closed the door and heard an empty sound. I guess the door didn't latch and now it's stuck shut. I gave it a good heave from the outside and dropped the shoulder from the inside with no joy. Even tried to pry it open lightly. Which resulted in some chipped paint. It took a lot of control not to kick a hole the side.

Is there an easy fix? Or will I be pulling the door trim out tomorrow?

Thanks in advance anyone.

I think you'll be pulling the door trim off. Won't be an easy job with the seat in the way.
Good luck!

Yeah sounds like you'll have to pull the trim as Ian said. The window winder handle will be the extra fun bit after you get the seat out - its painful enough when you could open the door let alone when its stuch shut!

Good luck ;)

try winding the window down and stick a straight piece metal down the door to where the locking mechanism is and push on it while someone pulls the door from the outside sounds like the mechanism has locked on the striker plate direct pressure opening arm can sometimes fix it..

Thanks for the advice guys. I found that the tang that secures the latch has broken off. Off to Subaru or the wreckers.
