Electric cooling fans

Are the electric cooling fans on an EA81 designed to blow air from the back of the radiator to the front, or suck air from the front of the radiator to the back?

sit in the back, sucking air through.
but only run with the air con i think
or they get hard wired and screwed up

They will both run with the a/c on but also when tripped by the radiator thermo switch.

In all circumstances if your headlights are on, the slimline fan should cut out. Boy do both those fans suck a bit of electrical power!!

Thanks guys, I had mine wired the wrong way.
which probably explains why I was overheating on the weekend, after having a new radiator put in.
