Front wind screen rust

Has any one any experience with quite bad front windscreen rust? Just found a Subie wagon for sale in great condition except for some pretty bad windscreen rust - has rusted through to the inside right around the whole windscreen 'frame' (for lack of a better word). Seller says it doesn't leak. My thoughts are that it's a pretty big job - probably need to cut and weld in new roof pillars and as for the top/roof - i dunno. Don't have welding skills myself, so would be paying for it to be done... expenisve? Not worth it? It's a bummer, becuase the rest of the car is great - and mechanically sweet!
Any experience, tips, etc appreciated.

It is common in the early wagons, and isn't bad to repair. If steve is still doing them you can buy a piece that will fit in there so you just cut out the rust and tack the new piece in. :)

That's good news! Just called a local panel beater/'rust guy'... yep, turns out it won't be that expensive. He can make custom made bits if need be.

As for the rear creaking noise though -when truning or over bumps-... Probably struts? Bushings? These things not too expensive to get done though right...?

Clearly I'm no expert! Probably should learn to do these things myself...

Yeah Struts/ bushing, etc Silcone spray or WD40 are your friends there! Depending on how bad they are. :)
