EJ20 stalls going up sand dune then engine running issue
Well this afternoon went for a little dune run. I tried to go up a dune but lost revs, kinda stalled and rolled back down. Now as it started to stall just before it rolled back down I put my foot on the clutch.
As I came back down to flat surface all the lights were on the dash as if it had stalled or the key was on ACC, the engine was running and showing 0RPM. It was roughly idling. I reved it then it stalled. I then turned the ignition off, then just started the engine up as per normal, the check engine light stayed on for about 20-30seconds then went off. The car idled fine, ran fine and didn't have any other issues for the rest of the dune run or drive home.
Anyone experienced anything similar? Should I of done the stall recovery like you should for dunes? or is it just that boxer motors don't like nearly stalling when the car is on a 70 degree angle up?
Cheers

^ I didn't notice any smoke and don't have a code reader
But since the check engine light went off I wasn't really concerned. I just figured that they don't like stalling on inclines like that when your foots planeted to the floor, yet still loosing revs. It took a good few seconds to start up though.
Just seeing if anyone else has experience anything similar. I don't think I should be worried about it?

It'll store any codes, just find the 2 little black single wire plugs that hang down near the steering column, plug them together & turn your ignition on, count the flashes I.E. 3 long and 2 short followed by 2 long and 4 short repeatedly will be code32 and 24, look up your problem & fix it or unplug black plugs, disconnect the battery for 15min & go for a drive and check it again, they may have cleared & the problem is gone or you've gotta fix it.

Pick up is at the front of the tank but not a bad design, the sock sits in the bottom of a metal tray so the crap usually never gets near it but when it's being bounced from dune to dune I guess that doesn't count lol.

There was between half and a quarter of a tank.
Climbed a massive dune yesterday in the Foz. Don't have any pics but got up it first time and a work mates jeep took 4 attempts. haha
I got a huge run up and was flying along at 6000rpm 1st gear, high range. I didnt have any issues whats so ever and this dune was heaps steeper than the other and just kept going up and up.The other one where the check engine light came on and it stalled I had no run up whats so ever.

I hope it doesn't die.... I got some wheel spin leaving McDonalds this morning while the roads were wet and it was raining. lol Just to let you know
Im not usually rough on it, was just in the mood to be an idiot.
Aren't the engines are suposed to be bullet proof?
I look after it well, changing all the oils more than they need it and keeping everything in good order, I hope I get another 100-150,000km from it.
Oh Toonga wheres the block? If it does go though I was thinking of upgrading to an EJ25, just a bit more grunt would come in handy every now and again.
