Got a ticking EA82 (carby), yes I've read all the threads but I'm convinced mine is something else. There is the lifter tick still present but this one is much louder & metallic which worries me. Yet to do the oil pump seal but it's the first thing on my list.

Loud knocking/ticking after cold start. Seems to be coming from the driver (left) side rear of the engine. Does remain once engine warms up & idle drops (second video)...but only after 15 minutes of driving does the sound go away. BUT comes back again randomly. While driving the ticking speeds up with revs & pitch gets higher. Accessory belts all tight, timing belt tensioned a month ago, oil full, 15W-40 Penrite (2500kms/4 months old).

AND...

Loud metal on metal squeal coming from the rear when braking...imagined it was rear drums needing attention but noticed this while the car was on the ramps today. Leaking wheel bearing?

ALSO...

Noticed a noise from the exhaust, sounds like a hollow blowing noise. Pretty sure it's just the muffler design but it sounds weird. Will try get a video later to explain what I mean.

Mate your videos only have about 5 seconds of sound.
Dont know about the leaking wheel bearings, but it could be rust?
And the links are broken.

Replace the rear wheel bearings and the ticking is normal unless u wanna replace the lash adjusters at like 40 bucks a piece

Before you go replacing the wheel bearings, check that you even have slave cylinders left in your drum brakes. (you might want to check to see if you have brake pads as well)

That looks like seeping brake fluid not axle grease.

the last ticking noise I had was my coil lead sitting off the cap and on a bit - 20mm spark jumping acros was the ticking :)

Reserve judgement until you see the video though, it's not a normal tick.
