Where are the ignition timing marks

Hi everyone now for an annoying question just did a service oil plugs leads filter etc and went to check the ignition timing set up my timing light but where exactly is the timing marks so i found out they are not on the front crank pulley like other cars its a 93 l series carby model ea82 4wd auto cheers

on the bell housing is a black rubber plag with a tab on the top of it behind that is the flywheel the marks should be on that. otherwise you have not found the notch on the crank pulley.

What the hell is going on these days?? Are they not putting fullstops and commers on new computers???
But anyway, If your 93 L.Series has the standard EA82 carby engine then it will be like TOONGA said, on the flywheel. You'll need to remove the black cover (if it's still there) and you should be able to see the flywheel. I find it easier to turn the engine over (without the ignition on) until you see the marks and then I put a little white mark on the 8deg BTDC, this way you'll be able to see it clearly when you've got the timing light on it.

I also add extra arrows beyond 20 dBTDC to indicate which way to zero TDC

yep they should be there.....(five full stops! lol) unless you do a conversion eh Toonga! and take that flywheel off to replace it with a adapter plate and flex plate...then you have no timing marks at all.
Then I lined up the crank pully notch to the block halves mark. measure 8mm and you have 8 degrees BTC. This is if your cran pulley is 360mm in circumference making one mm for every degree.

LOL.. this is true and a very good point for people wanting to make their EJs carbureted.
