ej22 problem
Having trouble with Ej22 loosing power under load.
Seems to idle ok and will rev nicely if throttle on gradual. but if throtle is not on gradually it gets bogged down and looses power and wont rev out,
The only ECU code being thrown is purge canister solenoid (had that same code before with the last ej22 installed in same car and that ran fine)
I have tried swapping all the sensors with ones off my last engine which was running sweet.
Also tried changing coil packs, leads and new plugs.
Anybody had this issue before?
any help much appreciated.

I too agree that there is a pipe off. I suspect the one that goes to the IACV. If you could post some pics of your setup that may help.steptoe wrote:afm issue or air leaks into ducting after afm ? a hose off somewhere?

Hey Toonga, yeah your dead right mate, that plastic connection piece you circled had busted off.
I knew it was broken but i thought it was just a hose joint connection and didn't realise it actually fed into the intake as well !!
Thanks for taking the time to check it out, You did very well to pick that up, thanks heaps.
I have now swapped the intake with a spare, Will test in the morning, Im pretty sure it will fix the problem.
a Massive thanks for the help guys.
Cheers,
Matt

Was this the problem? as it didn't look like the break was through the main intake pipe, only the holder piece for the tee pipe for your beathers.

If hooked up correctly, the left and right rocker cover breathers will joint the top of the tee and the bottom of the tee should go back and join the intake pipe further back towards the air filter box. If you have a spare one of these pipes, just turn it upside down and you'll see.
