Considering self lucky it did not rear its ugly head while driving. Went to start, click, click, newly installed volt gauge read 13 V or thereabouts, popped bonnet and found this little bastard.

A nudge and a cable tie got me to the auto elecs for a new terminal installed with the pliers I chucked in only that morning

Yeah happens hey. Can be fun to find some of these seemingly simple issues if your not used to trouble shooting issues. I had a loose neg battery terminal a few years back that was eating into the anode. Looked fine until I took it off to find the anode all pitted.

Another car had the NRMA out three times. Thought it was the alternator and or alarm system playing up. Turned out to be corrosion again on the terminals, cant remember if it was pos or neg or both. Essentially the connection was poor so the alt could not recharge the battery sufficiently on shorter trips to the shops etc. Funny in the end but frustrating at the time.

Yeah I had issues for a while with my old L where randomly the starter would just click click click, ended up being that blue powdery corrosion on the battery terminal that was hidden by the red plastic cover over the battery clamp.
Gave me good practice at push starting though.

A round-file and a hit of Lanox does wonders. :)
