what size are the main jets?

Have you changed the fuel filters recently ?

do you have a return line hooked up?

Are you using the original fuel pump?

HT leads breaking down ? An ignition problem rather than fuel ? Coil breaking down ?

There is a filter in the carby where the fuel line is attached. it is hidden behind what looks like a brass block off screw.

this gets blocked and can cause the surging problem.

I had bad fuel starvation with my brumby when I put a second hand Cortina webber and found after much swearing, found out that some wombat blanked the fuel supply off for the webber and used the fuel return line as the inlet. After studying the top a mate noticed the problem. The return has a small drilling to keep some fuel pressure on the needle and seat. Changed the blank off and carby worked fine, no fuel starvation anymore. My Brumby has a fuel return at the filter so I didn't use the webber return. Jetting is standard Ford
