You still can drive it until the battery dies!!! (without A/C & P/S) Not good news eh..... (Good thing the water pump is run off from timing belt!)
Happened to me once and drive for 100kms without belts until home.
Cheers

Interesting, i wonder if i could make it to the eastern suburbs from geelong with it.. Better not try coz knowing my luck it will stop on the westgate bridge.

Ive had it happen twice before on the stationary pulley, last time i caught it out and changed it in time.

Was the replacement bearing a sealed bearing? If not buy one that is and I'd carefully remove one side seal and pack some more grease in it (not too much) and then fit the seal back on.

Same happened to me last Easter, out in bush near Bremer Bay WA and over 600k's from home.

Luckily a mate had a satellite phone and another mate who was coming down late picked up parts on the way. Wasn't able to confirm the bearing size and Subaru would only sell as the whole pulley....... So had to pay up to make sure I got the right part and could get the 3 year old twins + 1 year old + wife home!

Ahh, dayco 89087
Or the close to original option of the 89007
http://www.accessdayco.com/BuyersGuide.aspx

This i beleive will solve the issue as im hoping the forces on the bearing wont be acting on an angle as usual and then messing up the bearing with intense pressure.

Anyway, time to call subaru about a replacement spring tensioner and try find some of these dayco pulleys.
