So, just to get this right in my own mind, as I'm not 100% sure on this car but can you please help me with the following questions...
1. You have the original Subaru key that locks and unlocks the doors using the door lock barrel?
2. The key has 2 buttons on it to lock and unlock the doors without using the door lock barrel?
3. The key doesn't fit into an ignition barrel in the car, it just uses the fob system, where you only need to have the key with you and you should be able to start the car, just by pressing the start/stop button on the dash?
4. Are you 100% sure that this key is the original one for this car?
I recently lost the key to my wife's H6 Outback and we were able to get the master key code for the car (we had to prove ownership of the vehicle), then we had a locksmith (who specialized in key coding for keys with microchips in them) and they had to come out to my home. They then cut a key onsite using the code, then plugged the immobilizer reader in to the car and within 10 minutes the car was running again.. yay
You know you are getting old when the candles on your birthday cake start to cost more than the cake itself.
