wheels won't fit, help!

Post by SubiDave » Mon Dec 18, 2006 3:26 pm

I bought some 13" subaru white rims for my leone royale, got tyres put on and they lock up hard on the front calipers as if its the wrong offset, I was unaware these wheels had different offsets, please help.

The offset isnt different its the shape of the pokes on the earlier MY series they had a thinnner non ventilated Disc and the L series where all wider ventilated Discs so the caliper has a slightly different shape. You can get around this by taking the smallerst amount off the caliper cage.

Correct offset is 55mm+ and MY rims vs L rims - you sure you got the right Subaru rims?

My next comment is why did you buy em I am sure that between all of us there a re a fair few sets of 13” rims around.

Hope this helps.

If you get an MY rim and an L series rim (sunny style) you can see the slight difference in the shape of the wheel its only minor but enough to piss you off when you think they will bolt straight on.

He may not have known. When I bought my L Series - an owner before me put one of these wonderful wheels as the spare. Not until I bolted it on after getting a flat did I realise the difference. Luckily the little bastards fit on the back fine - so I just swapped front to back.

You can possibly approach the fellow and let him know the situation. If he told you they would fit, I think the right thing to do would to be hand you back the money. It sounds like an honest mistake to me.
