ea82T head ?

Post by stamp_licker » Thu Nov 24, 2005 8:28 pm

pulled the heads off to see if the head gasket blown after many other tests failed to locate why the overflow bottle kept pressurising.can't see any leaks but the drivers side gasket has silver stuff all over the gasket both sides and the block and head also, can't tell what brand of gasket.the passenger side looks nice and clean the gasket is a monotorque.is the silver stuff normally there or is this a indication of chemi weld?what else should i be looking for in the head area before reassembly?still can't see why the overflow would be pressurrising :?

So the silver stuff is on the gasket & head/block?
Sounds like the head gasket had blown then. They separate & leave the silver bits on the head/block & then form pin hole leaks.
Just buy a VRS kit. I can get you a price.

The silver head gasket is prolly a cheaper brand or an early OEM one

Make sure you get the heads pressure tested
