Problem fixed!

G'day crew. I went to drive my L series to work yesterday and the battery was flat, not totally but not enough to crank the thing. I had a look over the car and found that the parkers are staying on even when the ignition and headlight switches are both in the off position. Is this just a sticky relay and if so where is it located? I just moved so my L series manual is still in a box somewhere? Thanks, Marty.

This little item has caught people out all over the world, lucky it isn't a kill switch otherwise we would stranded subies all over the place

Thanks mate, problem's fixed. I never knew what that switch was for! I must have accidentally switched it on when I was cleaning the interior yesterday. I feel so stupid!

caught me out when i bought my car, and its always after you clean the interior
must have caught out 90% of the people on this board at some stage

I didnt know either till a few weeks ago.
I dunno how many times ive driven all day with them on, i usually notice now by looking at the clock and see it's dimmed. I guess I could just check the stalk

First time this happened to me was after i had spliced the MPFI loom to the carbie one... I was wondering how i could f**k something like that up and i was pulling wires from the dash for a while before i realised the switch had been knocked when i was putting the dashboard back in... Glad it wasn't my wiring, i'd still be looking for the problem today...
My mate that also has this switch didn't care when i told him about it, his reply was something like "so why would i want to have my parkers on with the ignition off?" with an un-impressed tone that didn't warrant an answer.

maybe it would be a good place for a kill switch;)

that happened once when I first bought my Liberty, I accidentally left the parkers on overnight and had flat battery next day's lunch time.. lesson learnt!

gotta be careful too, on l-series in particular, the switch can sometime crap itself, and leave the parkers on, even if you switch it on and off, this is why i have totally by-passed this switch...
