im after the part numbers and make and brand for some springs for my rear struts on my lib, the current standard springs are starting to sag (and they where too soft to start with) im Running the RS turbo standard springs in the 2wd rear struts, and im after the part numbers for some stiffer and raised springs if posible, i know some of u guys have them, but nobody over here in perth seems to b able to help me, fronts are fine with outbacks and kings but i need to know what to get for the rears, preferably raised springs as i want to make the rear a tad higher

any help appreciated

dave

so whats the prob?

you will either have tapered springs (narrower at the top) or you wont.

once you have worked that out, give king springs a call and tell them what your trying to do. they are very helpful over the phone

last i saw his car was now sittin level but he will be fittting outback front struts which will lift the front and therefore makin the front higher than the back

also dave its not cause of all the weight u have in the bck is it

some RS springs are tapered some arent.

measure the height of the sills off the ground, not the distance from the wheel arch to teh wheel. The rear wheel arch is about 40mm lower than the front.

My car is about 1 1/2" higher at the back end but the distance from the top of the tyre to the wheel arch is the same front and back. I have kept it this way because it sits level when i load it up with camping gear / tow my boat

as far as I remember the Gen1 king springs are tapered. look at an early forester standard height spring. they arent tapered and are the correct diameter for your strut / spring hat. check the dimensions with king springs of course. Bryan (89rsturbo) is running raised forester rears in his Gen1 wagon at the moment and they are too tall for the strut. they top out all the time
