hey all im halfway through a gearbox swap.
ive got the new gearbox in and all the front bolts done up nicely- thinking this would help me line up the crossmember perfectly.

thing is its not perfect- seems like it is tilting up to one side as the mounts are close on one side and far away on the other.
any tips for getting these lined up properly- maybe i should loosen all the front bolts again.

thx
matt

dont worry i fixed that problem. turns out i didnt notice that the crossmember wasnt symmetrical, one side is slightly higher than the other- ie i had it back to front.
took a mammoth 6 or so hours to put it all back together myself once the gearbox was in. now im just having some adjusting issues with the clutch, but everything else seems alright. more testing neccesary.

couldnt work out why the crossmember wouldnt line up. until i realised it was on back to front. made me feel like a tool.

also after cracking open the gearbox i could get a look at what was left of second gear-

wasnt driving hard at all when it happened- although some find this hard to believe. boosted up through first like normal then changed to second let out clutch and crunch, then *the sound of teeth jiggling about in my gearbox *. that was it. must of like weakened em before or something.

Hey subi,

Good pics of your work... was the gearbox a turbo or standard dual range box? Just curious...

Hope you got something better in there now...

Cheers
