you can fit a left mirror to a <1983 model coupe, the nut and flange is welded to the inside of the skin, even if the door never had a mirror (can also use '83> square type)

Having just fitted an L Series radius rod with its rubber bushes to my Brumby and so initial differences obvious - thought worth a mention in here. Brumby was ~17mm dia, L Series ~ 18mm dia. The dished washer welded to rod faces opposite direction between the models. Checked with Mr Pedder who has notation that one set of L Series rod bushes of the L Series can be used on MY, the second listing they have is not recommended due to slop. I retained L rubbers in the fit to Brumby. Now need to fit same to other side.

Later edit: found there is about a 5mm difference between what counts, the MY is longer. Still L worked OK for a temporary spare :)

Steering rack 'rack ends' between L and MY are not interchangeable due to the gender of the ends of each model, one rack end is male, while other rack end is female.

To unlock an MY door with key requires turn key anti clock, an L is turn clockwise.

A Vortex , loosely based on L Series stuff is opposite the L series, turn key anti clockwise !!

I think that's only from the driver's side, if you unlock passenger side it's clockwise, in other words from either side you're turning the key towards the rear.

Not a difference, but a same ....little black plastic pollution control device on 89 -92 Brumby with four hoses + one outlet blanked off, sits near oil filler tube is same as the one on early L carby models at least, and sits opposite end of air box to the Brumby. Swap the blank cap from one side to the other - BINGO
