battery/electrical question

Post by marc » Mon Nov 26, 2007 3:56 am

Help! My wife's about to leave town and we have a problem.

She left the key in last night (2000 Forester) and we awoke to a dead battery. I jumped it and the car started. The battery is holding the charge but the flashers will not stop flashing (the switch is off). Even when I shut the car the flashers continue to blink then go off, then start blinking again. I've disconnected the battery for 10 minutes hoping it would re-set. It didn't.

All dealers are closed today. Any suggestions are appreciated.

thanks,
Marc

i finally figured out the answer to my own question. When the battery totally dies it affects the keyless entry and the security system. All you have to do is hit the unlock button on your keyless remote. Too simple!

You should always read your owners manual (eventually) you will find sometimes the car will do stuff you didnt think it could
