Anyone tune a weber to start and run without the choke

Post by Phizinza » Wed Apr 08, 2009 1:39 pm

on your EA81 or EA82 engine?

I know its possible. I've seen it done on Fiats, in snowy areas even.. Just wondering if anyone has done it to a Subaru?

I ask because I'm rebuilding a mates DGAV and its missing all the choke stuff...

youd have to tune it to run rich, the fiats in snow probably can be because its constantly cold. In Australia a rich running engine would just chew fuel.

My Weber was a DGAV - I ripped the choke off. 3 pumps of the accelerator and it starts fine. Mine is an EA82 obviously

So might try it with stnd EA81 jetting without the choke and see how it runs... Cheers for the heads up.
