'05 Liberty Gearbox Drain Plug

Post by Pug505GR » Mon Sep 14, 2009 8:59 am

Hi All,

I figured my Liberty was a bit - ok a lot - overdue for a service, so set about yesterday changing all the fluids. Until I go to the gearbox (manual). The drain plug seems to be a Torx fitting, but the shops I've spoken to here just look at me blankly when I went and asked for a Torx sump plug tool.

Are these tools available, or are they a 'specialist only' tool  From the look of it, it seems to be just a T60 or T65 bit.

Can someone please confirm this for me before I turn Devonport upside down looking for the wrong part :)

Thanks

Matt

Oh BTW, it's a 2005 2.5i Manual Liberty Wagon

I think I remember reading it was a T70.
Look on NASIOC - an Impreza forum, but later models use the same plug.

That's great thanks. Will check it out.

It's always handy when you need three different tools to change the oils in the car :D
