EA82 conversion

Post by subyleone » Fri Oct 09, 2009 1:35 pm

Ok so I have an L series wagon dual range 4wd with an Ea71. I have just bolted up an EA82 wich bolted straight up with only the mounts that needed changing. As the old EA71 had points ignition and the EA82 has electronic ignition I have a small problem as I don't have the rest of the electronic gear yet. Right now I don't have the money and really need to get the car going. Is there any way to convert it to points for the time being? I am yet to try the old EA71 distributer

An EA71 in an L Series !! Man the Kiwis were ripped off. They got those Backfire fours in early Commodores over there too. Making up for it now with the wide variety of imports we dont see over here.
