Threebond 1215 equivalent?

Post by Craigus » Sun Mar 19, 2006 4:05 pm

Hi all,

Putting the spare EJ20T back together after head gasket failure.

The manual says to use Threebond 1215 or equivalent on the forward camshaft caps and the rocker cover. I've got Permatex Ultragrey RTV silicone. It's oxygen sensor safe and looks like it should be OK to use.

Does anyone know if this stuff is NOT suitable ?

That's interesting - thanks.

I've had a reply over on USMB to the effect that the stuff I've got is a direct equivalent, so that's good.
