Guess that Vacuum!

Post by ChPLAT » Wed Aug 18, 2010 6:56 pm

Looking at the left hand side of the manifold I had a vacuum line left over after re attaching the air cleaner.
I found another pipe that it may have come off but it appears to go back into the manifold right under the carby which doesn't make sense as it nearly rubs the throttle body.

I'm stumped. Any ideas guys?

I'm 99% sure that goes to the underside of the air cleaner :)

that is correct it goes into the air cleaner and if I remember correctly from my own car it goes into a fitting with a similar clip to the one on the engine.

Im at work so I cant post the photos I have of my old carby setup (sorry)

That's the right hand side of the engine, it's on the right hand side of the car.

Everything of a car, left or right, is in relation to the driving position.

My pet hate and my 2c.

I thought it did too. But I couldn't find where it came off of.
There is a inlet to the air cleaner above the distributor that has been blanked off. Maybe it has been hooked up wrong for awhile.
Will have another look in the morning. Thanks guys.

When you lift off the top part of your air cleaner, you will see on the 'drivers side' a little by-metal valve deal.. well the hose connects to that ;) but on the underside :)

That's it!
Except it had the pipe and the little 90 joiner still attached. No wonder I couldn't find it.
Thanks heaps, I am in your debt guys.
