EA82 MPFI 89, Bored and or stroked

Post by dree » Sat May 06, 2006 3:14 pm

I'm soon to start a rebuild on a High mileage (347000k) EA82, like to get some extra performance, but want the mods to be undetectable. Has anybody ever increased capacity of an EA82? If not are there any reasons why it couldn't be done easily.

It's a spare engine so time is on my side.

Any other ideas for under the radar performance increases?

Is it an MPFI EA82 or a carby one? Either way there are options for increasing the performance, none of which however are mind blowing.

Stroking / boring is not often done on the EA series to my knowledge, well at least not in any big way. The goggle wearing gyro pilots tend to use EA81 engines, so unfortunately there's not a lot in the way of overpriced soup-ups for the 82....
