AC Belt tightener

Post by Davidov » Sun Oct 02, 2011 8:35 pm

Hi guys.

Me and Taza were as usual stuffing around tinkering with our cars, and we decided to tackle the squeaking coming from my engine. We suspected the A/C belt was loose so decided as both novices to try and tighten it.

(Ex pic found online attached)

Unfortunately, when tightening the plastic thing the bolt threads through snapped, which i now know was because we didn't loosen the bolt (next to the red circle).

Oh well. All part of the learning process. :p

One thing I'm unsure of is whether to try and plastic glue it back together? I read online that they are available from Subaru dealers for cheap, and easy to replace, unfortunately the closest Subaru dealer is 450km away. I'm curious as to what the part is called so i can try and source it online?

Can you help?

Cheers,

David

EDIT: I just realized this may have been better suited in the troubleshooting section, sorry if it is in the wrong place.
