Do a search on WRX conversion - only if you're good at spinning spanners and troubleshooting. If not forget it and just get a replacement engine or yours rebuilt.Wesvo wrote:I am wondering what I should do, my engine. Take a look at my brumby build, the first post has all the details.
Im currently getting 500 km to 50 ltrs which should improve when I rebuild the carby.
(or when I drive like a grandpa)
the biggest issue is the making of the manifold for the carby, if you can find a EJ18 SPFI manifold you will only need to modify it a small amount to fit a carby to it.

As far as I know you can still engineer them with the upgraded ***** conversion kit. It's just $$$ and another hoop to jump throughsteptoe wrote:Bennie ! What are you doing, trying to corrupt a fellow Vic member ? Or has VicRoads gone lenient on power ups like WRX in Brumby ?

I too am running a standard trim L series 5 speed in EJ casings (essentially the L series gearbox) and have thus far done about 70k km with an EJ22 in front of it. Killed a clutch in that time but other than that everything's been good.steptoe wrote:I am running a standard L Series 5 speed box 4WD dual range behind a 10 or 12psi EA82T - 50,000km so far ..... touch wood
