Water noise coming from Engine.
Water noise coming from Engine.
Hey Guys,
I only recently bought my '92 Liberty GX celebration, i notice last night that when driving there is noise that sounds like there is water running coming from the front right side, cant figure out if its the seal of windows or coming from the engine? Anybody have any ideas on what it may be? I bought the car off a work colleague who has had it for 10 years. He said there was nothing wrong with it etc, he is a honest guy.

Hi and welcome,
A sloshing water noise can sometimes be heard when first starting the car which is normal.
When driving though I'm not so sure..

Very common on the early model Liberty is the sounds of water flowing behind the dash. This is caused be air bubbles trapped in the heater core. This can be bleed out by raising the front of the car as high as possible and put a tall funnel on the radiator fill point (where the radiator cap sits) and run the engine for a few fan cycles. I'd recommend you try this when the engine has cool down enough to remove the radiator cap. If after you have bleed the cooling system and the noise comes back then you'll need to have the system checked for leaks.
You know you are getting old when the candles on your birthday cake start to cost more than the cake itself.
