Why is it when you buy a repair manual to help with simple repairs and upgrades, the pics are not what you have on your car?
Subject is a Brumby with a stock carby. The problem is, accelerator pump doesn't work. investigating with the air filter casing off says fuel coming out of the top of the accelerator pump. Further investigation shows the gasket between the top cover of the carby and the main body blocks a port to the top of the accelerator pump. The pics in the manual have the gasket also blocking it. Perhaps it is meant to be there. Further investigation shows the choke not sitting open when at running temperature. This is the auto choke model. So I guess thats another problem.
Once the top cover was removed, manual operation of the accelerator pump pumped fuel quite well. I will put a kit through it tomorrow and see what happens but if anybody has had similar problems before, it would be good to here about it.
