MPFI Won't Start, Fuel?
MPFI Won't Start, Fuel?
Just put my EA82 MPFI back together (blown head gasket/cracked head). It won't start.
I feel it may be lack of fuel. If I pull the fuel in line off there seems to be a build up of pressure and there is fuel there. But no fuel in the return line. If I dribble a bit of fuel down the throttle body it starts and runs for a few seconds.
It has been sitting around for 3-4 weeks.
Is it possible to have an airlock? Do I need to or can I bleed the system somehow?
Any ideas much appreciated.
Thanks

Its EFI and runs about 37psi fuel pressure, that shuld be more than enough to clear an air block.
Can you hear the fuel pump cycle when you turn the key to on?
I had this trouble when i first started mine, try starting it with the maf unplugged.
Have you checked for codes?

Sure the fuel lines is connected correct place? Disconnect the main fuel line and turn the key see if the pump is feeding fuel (be aware you'll have fuel going everywhere so be prepared!)

The MAF is the Mass Air Flow sensor, the aluminium thing bolted to you airfilter box. It measures the volume of air the engine is taking in.
The fuel line from the pump should connect directly to the fuel rail. The return line connects to the fuel pressure regulator.
This may be your problem
