Servicing
Well, As some of you might know, i bought simons RX (yes, the really really really fast one). I service it every 5000km, i replace the oil every 5000km BUT i replace the filter every 10 000km. This is generally the norm on older cars as they use the oil alot more than modern engines and the simple design of these engines generally dictates they like a drink or two, However, on my R33 GTR Vspec, i service it every 5000km, oil and filter, as this is the generally accepted practice with high performance cars. At the end of the day tho, it really depends on the conditions you are placing the car under, Ie, beach work and hard hot scrub runs mean heavy engine work which means a tighter maintenance regime should be applied, but if u are putting around in it around town/on the highway, then a more relaxed maintenance regime is applied, its horses for courses really, if u flog it, look after it and it will live longer, if u putt in it, look after it, it will live forever!!!!:D

It also depends how long you need the engine to last. I buy most of my cars new and sell them around 100,000kms. I do oil changes every 10,000kms or 12 months but I know people that increase that to 40,000km intervals with no probs. Wouldn't want to buy them 2nd hand though.
None of my turbo cars use any more oil than the non-turbo ones.
