What size is the box ? older V3 unit is much smaller than V4/5 unit. The older V3 was handset tune only...then you transfer to cart, then cart to PC and smooth/clean it up.

V4 > is connected to laptop via serial cable....std old direct DB9 serial cable, but still has the cartridge(same as old version so I`m told) so you can have/swicth 2 maps. Hand controller is also backwards campatible for V4->V3....HD 15pin connector.

....so you don`t need to make anything if its a V4, just download the software and plug it into you computer.

If it had dip switches inside its a V3.

I'm a fricken idiot ... It's a 4.21 not 3.21.

The cable is standard DB9? sweet! I'd been told previously by a wolf dealer that it was special and cost a ton of cash.

Has anyone got the latest version of the wolf software? I'll probably have the originals in my box at home, but the latest looks like it's a vast improvement. Wonder if it's worth the $89 tho.

No haven`t got it yet...sounds like a good idear since its the FIRST time wolf have actually written decent software with datalogging capability..

You can get the latest free version of the configuration software for free.

For $89 I think its worth it(I`d only buy it tho if I was doing the tuning...which I am)...I put in an on-line order and it was processed saying a local dealer would contact me for delivery and payment.... surprisingly tho ! ... I haven`t heard anything !

just spoke to wolf about it over email. they seem pretty good to talk to. They want me to send mine in for a firmware upgrade, but I need to be able to drive my car, so will have to wait until it's more convenient. I'm going to US/CAN in april/may for a week and a bit so might do it then.
