Wait your bloody turn!
He has to develop the kit for EA81's first. (tweety this should be with the water injection.)
Once these are rolling out then he can start to make EJ versions.
End rant.

I just read out the last two posts. My great wife Debbie told me that I'm more clever than what I think haha. (hope that attitude lasts lol)

The EJ....well guys guess what? Apart from this forum I havent laid eyes on one!! Bennie arrived here a few times and I looked into his engine bay and saw something resembling an engine but just couldnt take it all in, same as a H6 I saw at Mt Cole (the place where wives fall pregnant lol) But seeing as its fuel injection and eMU's eCU's and FAU's (f..k..g awesome units), I'd go blow through SC14. Blow through eFI, Draw through carbie.

So it would be totally out of my comfort zone.

But tell you what- I appreciate the comradrie and the assistance from forum members and would be here if ever you guys want any guidance in a conversion on your brumby/leone I'll be here. Dont know if any of you are on other forums but if you are you would agree this is one of the best with the friendliest members.

I've had visions of a brumby bonnet bulge actually using an SC12 and some oversize wheels and tyres to give a semi overdrive top gear at cruising speeds.

The mind never stops.

Well then can you help me set up my twin blowers when I get round to it? :p I've got the twin manifold to suit, should be easy

I'm sure this thread has been a learning experience for many of us almost as much as it was for you. Now we know it can be done and a good way to do it, so thank YOU

don't laugh about a twin set-up coz you already have a manifold. I once spoke to a fella with a Beetle powered by two tiny turbos on a twin carb EA81 - weighed 600kg !

Took the trike back to the auto electricians today. it wont start hot. regualtor was 18volts now 12.3.

coil check ok. module replaced, he (JJ, old timer very capable and experienced) thought- that will be it and Tony can go home. 3 hours later....

A SH brumby electronic dizzy was found at a wrecker nearby (which I hope to buy next week) and placed in the engine- no problems. so JJ is going to strip my dizzy to find out the cause. My dizzy has been recalibrated for the SC.

I return next week.

I'm still waiting for the check valve and its on backorder. End of the moth they reckon.

but today I fitted a relay to the WI pump and earthed it via the pressure switch. Ignition on and blew into it and presto! it works.

Gotta get several things finished on the trike as it is being entered in theEuroa show and shine early October and will be in the foyer of Jeffs shed mid November for the Motorcycle EXPO.

With all the high tech bikes on show it will be a contrast as to what you can do with a humble ea81 old school engine.

The trike battery just needed a shock charge. its fine now.

This little item finally arrived in my hands.

Image

Rocket had one on back order (although different as it was 12 volt.) Then a delay etc. This one works so that under 22 psi it wont suck water from the vacuum.

So this w/end going to install that, take 5 minutes max. Then I have water injection. Test it, install the mini baffles on order then dyno. Picked up a S/hand electronic dizzy on ebay for $50 from a wrecker (sorry dismantler !!) and it turned out to be in VGC. There was even pink paint on the two screws securing the mudule on,,,,thinking it was there from new. shaft has no play etc.

That dizzy made its way to Performance ignition Nunawading where it was dismantled, checked, oil hole enlarged (he told me it can be a problem with these as much can restrict oil access) and recalibrated for the supercharger.

VW performance where the dyno is done will collect it and as soon as the baffles are installed dyno time. finally.

yes Toonga....video before and after baffles :)

The water injection is connected and working.

So off I rode around town then up a hill and floored it in second and honestly has more power, seems a little quieter but that could eb my perception and it was windy.

Boost is the same. 4-5psi. So how is this so? Water injection suppose to increase power a little but that would mean boost would increase a little also?

Anyway the acceleration is even better. Quite impressive from the seat.

Now for the final dyno.

Just got to look at my diary for next week. Would really like your impressions of the extra power Bennie. Soon will organise a drop in after the tune. Really happy with this. The engine starts so easily and idles within a minute without choke. Good power without boost etc. a much leaner engine is on the cards.

Finally gave the engine bay a degrease and wash.

Image

Hooked up the caravan and with the water injection working headed off for a short run. Still needing that dyno is is so rich. But easily got up to 100kph. low down grunt clearly evident.
