Should I see flywheel thru housing EJ22

Changed engine temp sensor yesterday. Noticed service hole thru housing of clutch under air inlet, should I be able to see the forward surface of the flywheel or should there be a rubber cover over this hole.

I don't believe that will be an issue unless you're planning on doing some serious mud-bogging. If not, no worries.

yer theres usually a rubber bung there.
but by this time there hard as and dont stay in to well neways.
not a problem eitherway like Redroo says

yeah thats for the timing light area - normally the rubber seal or cover has gone hard and either fallen off or mechanic forgot to put it back in, once I found one inside the gearbox! I am sure subaru will have new one there, mine is missing as well.
