Hi All,
Just got my 3/93 impreza home and drove it up and down the back street (no plates) and there is a whine in the box in first gear only. Manual box, 1.8 motor, thats all i know about the car so far. How bad is this?????? Also when i push the clutch pedal in it feels like it is catching, 3 clicky points but it changes gear perfect?
:confused::???::roll:

A lot of the earlier EJ type gearboxes are starting to get a whine in them by now. Drive it sensibly in first and you won't have a problem for a long time.

The pedal clicky thing is probably due to a dry or worn clutch cable. It could be a dry shaft that the throw out bearing runs on but probably not.

Thanks, Does not sound like it is as bad as i first thought.
Lifted my spirit a bit, thought i bought a major lemon but now its back to minor.

My other liberty used to have that, I just changed the gearbox oil and added additives and lasts around 20,000kms until it comes back then I know its time to change the box oil again. So maybe its way to go?
Cheers
