Exhaust Studs - M10 x 1.25 x 70mm where can I get them!
Howdy,
I am replacing all my exhaust bolts with studs. The only problem is having trouble buying some. I'm sticking with the M10x1.25 studs but since my engine has the Egr emission thingy attached at the bottom of the cylinder heads, the studs need to be around 70mm in length minimum. I can find any studs that come in this length. I have tried a number of exhaust shops, bolts shops ect. The longest bolt I have been able to find is 65mm (Thats what I am using at the moment) but they are to short and after the head being cut down, they will be a couple of mm shorter again. I have not enquired with Subaru but one of the local shops I have enquired with advised that they tried subaru and cant get them there. The local shop then advised they would make them from a length M10x1.25 stock but they came back with a stupid price of $150 for 4 x 70mm studs...WTF!!!
Any ideas??
cheers

Trying to get M10x1.25 in long bolts is almost impossible, no one makes them. I can get M10x1.5 easily but it means I will have to drill and tap the holes in the head. According to "Champion" catalogue, they make M10x1.25x70 in exhaust studs.
