Hi guys,

We are trying to install the Ea82 tail shaft from a EA82 gearbox on a brumby. Would it be possible to have some ideas and pics on how you guys solved this problem.
I saw what the subie boys have done but we are not qualified to do such a good job:P

Thx

I would highly recommend doing something similiar to the Suby Boys as it is the best idea i found and put in my ute. However the other way is to get two pieces of flat bar and sandwich the floor panel between two piece (two flat bars per side of the tranmission tunnel) and bolt the 3 together. Then bolt the Tailshaft to the two pieces. I do not recommend this way as the floor pan is pretty weak, (gently hit with a hummer and you will see what i mean) so do it at you own risk.

The other way is to extend the standard Brumby Tailshaft to the right length, off memory it is like 150mm.

As Daza suggests is perfectly fine. It's what almost everybody except the Subi boys have done and I've never heard of any issues at all. We aren't talking doorslammer dragsters here :)

... and i'll make the same confession i made last time i posted that photo,
It's not my car, it's the job i started to copy when i did mine.
Mine only has one bolt on each side
Was about the only thing on the poor old Brumby i never had any trouble with!

What did you guys use on the top side(inside)? just the same size metal bar with the two or one bolt as washer?
