Tolerance of a LSD
Tolerance of a LSD
Guys out of interest, how much tolerance would a standard NA diff have as far as speed difference between front and rear wheels before it started to cause noticeable effects on the car.
Just thinking of different tire sizes front and rear, would say .5 km/h difference at 100km/h cause the differential to start locking up?

Ok. lets say EJ25 NA engine, VLSD center diff, Used for on road daily driving and perhaps with a clutch LSD in the rear.
The idea is 245/50R16 rear and 205/60R16 front which is a 0.2% difference in speed or something similar.

Um...... no.
Is it very recommended that you have the exact same size on both front and rear. Subaru even recommends that the front and rear are the same brand and make, and have same amount of wear.
Why do you want different sizes?

even 0.2% is a difference - you'll wear out your centre diff.Prunes wrote:Partly out of interest, partly because I think it would look tough and allow you to not destroy the turning arc by putting fat tires on the front.
