I noticed the other day that my passenger side CV boot on the Outback is torn and has splattered the firewall with grease.

Anyway i was searching ebay for CV boots and came across a few interesting tools on ebay.uk

yeh, ive seen the latter tool. They have one in our ford workshop, pretty handy. it's really not such a big hassle to disassemble cv's any way to be wanting to pay the price for it. but it works!...

A mate has one of these boot guns - got through auto pro? turner enterprises? but fussy bugger does not like the boots that you need to buy to s t r e t c h over the joint or he does not like paying double for the boots. Sits idle in his shop waiting for me to try one day....

I have tried some boots similiar to these but didn't use the fancy tool and my experience was crap, they lasted almost 100km before getting destroyed....

Im seriously considering buying the cone, then getting some good quality stretchy boots to put on.

Ive heard/seen them before but I was concerned about "stretching" that much on the CV boot and decreases lifespan of the boot, also if you were gonna do that, you would rather pull it apart and give it a good clean up before applying fresh grease eh..
Cheers
