Rocket Cover Gaskets

Post by mrvdv » Sat May 08, 2010 5:49 pm

Hey all
Just wondering where is the best place to purchase 2 x rocket cover gaskets for my '92 Subaru Liberty. I live in South Australia, and hopefully a place that could send it down etc.

Any help would be appreciated.

I would try pricing some genuine ones from Subaru.
Ask for "rocker" covers though, they might not know what "rocket" covers are. I don't. :)

ah ok cool thanks... I would prefer to try and get the cheapest brand/part made for it if I can as I don't really have much to fork out.. bad enough I gotta start saving for a secondhand transmission LOL

I bought rocker cover gaskets plus all the cam wheel and plastic timing cover gaskets too all from Subaru at the same time when I was doing the last conversion and from memory it was all very cheap.

ah ok.. apparently the 2nd previous owner said the mechanic had advised it was the rocket cover gasket to be replaced. can i just replace that itself and not worry about the other ones? since ill be doing it myself... cant afford to have a pro to do it

+1 for genuine ones.. aftermarket ones would be cheaper if they were sold by themself but the aftermarket ones are usually sold in a Valve Regrind Kit and would work out more expensive then buying just the rocker cover gaskets from Subaru.. oh and by the way.. buy the Rocker Cover Bolt Seals while your there :)

not 100% sure but I'm guessing around $25 each

L & R Rocker Cover Gaskets and 6 Rocker Cover Bolt Seats shouldn't cost more than about $70 from your local Subaru Parts Shop..

I found this on the web :)

Subaru Mount Gambier
