Info on EJ25 Quadcam wanted

Post by RSR 555 » Wed Dec 08, 2010 3:00 pm

Looking for any info on a EJ25 Quadcam engine that is in a Gen3 Outback.. I know they weren't available in Aus.. so I'm hoping someone overseas has some info like specs and wiring diagram.

The only info I have is the engine code EJ254DXDBE and it's from a 2002 Subaru Lancaster (Outback)

Any advise and help would be much appreciated

Yeah Andrew, the Gen2 EJ25 was a different animal.. I will take some pics of this one but from what I noticed when we looked at it, was the manifold was a different design and I think (not 100% sure) that the heads looked like AVCS type. It was definately a Gen3 model with the larger headlight design but I can't tell what year it is until I do some more checks. I'm sure from searching the net, that it's more than likely around 2002.

Jules found this but the pics are small..

I thought EJ254D was the code for a standard EJ25 quad cam. If it went to non-english speaking countries then maybe they were just using left over motors in the Gen3, googling only brings up russian stuff... which seems suss.

4 engines listed in that FSM: 2l sohc, 2.5l sohc, 3l 6cylinder sohc, 2l dohc.

no 2.5l dohc :(

a good reference material that I didn't have before :)
