Hi; I have seen a clutch plate on ebay for a brumby $30, mine is an 89 L wagon; Will the brumby plate fit?

Just get a new one - this way you won't be pulling your L apart any sooner than you have to due to the clutch giving out again.

Plus a new clutch disc WILL be at maximum thickness, unlike something you could be buying on ebay...

if it is new it is really cheap, but having said that it definitely won't fit properly in to an L series, as the brumby clutch plate itself is thinner than the L series clutch plate, which would cause it to slip all the time as the pressure wouldn't grab it properly

2 different size clutches 200mm and 225mm, 2 different spline sizes per clutch size 21 spline and 24 spline, but still won't work properly as Ive had this problem so has Guy when he put an L series flywheel into a brumby I think it was

Thanks guys; You are all correct. Rather than pay $130 for a new one I went to Budgewoi Spares (kurri branch) where they said they had one but still in car but if I was prepared to take the risk I could pull the motor out and see what it was like. They were quite surprised when I said ok; and 90minutes later I had a good clutch plate; 2 rear gas t/gate struts and various small items for $20 and they had an E82 on the ground ready for sale. Still chasing passenger side front park/blinker lens.;small or big amber section . It has one of each at the moment.

if you are looking for an alternative, ring Jim Berry at Race Clutch. he will sort you out with a pro clutch that will do EXACTLY what you want, and he is THE ducks nuts when it comes to clutches. He made me a 4700lb clamp on a holden gemini diesel disc, it had as much clamp as a button clutch and was as easy to drive as a standard one.
