92 liberty auto transmission check

Hi just wondering if the motor needs me be on when checking the auto tranny oil and if the trans needs to e in neutral some advice is really appreciated cheers

Warm it up, go through the positions on the shifter, then check it with the engine running with the selector in park.

As well make sure you have the correct markings on the dipstick as there are cold marks (engine and box cold) and hot marks (engine and box hot)
