L Series stalls at idle.

Hi,
Taza and i recently scored an EA82 L series for 300 bucks that actually runs and physically is in decent condition all things considered. Gearbox seems alright and all engine power seems alright, except that when coming to a stop, the engine will just die.
Could this be the timing?
Cheers.

I'd check all the vacuum hoses for splits or missing hoses. Simple fix first lol...

have you got the accelerator cable adjusted right??? adjust the little screw on the throttle body to lift the revs abit?

Your foot is on the clutch right? Lol jk, +1 for a vacuum leak. Very often ive had the vacuum lines at T piece under the air cleaner come off when putting it back on. Cant say whether a leak this small would cause stalling tho.

Sounds like a leak as you can hear air with the bonnet up and the car is idling before it dies.
Its a hell bargin!

It will get you pretty good at heel and toe
I had a similar problem after 4wding, it was solved by about 85k/hr in 2nd flat out down the highway. i suspect some carby cleaner would have had the same effect. it could be worth trying something like that if the vacume lines dont solve it.

Here she is. I can't believe how well it runs, really goes like a rocket other than the shitty idling and one stuffed CV.

To get it over the pits, I need to put a new imobilser in, found the old one in pieces ripped out under the drivers seat this morning, fix the stuffed CV and get it idling fine. Replace 3 tyres that aren't bald and then shes good to go.
$80 for the pits, then get it registed by filling out some paper work which is only $120. I think I can have the whole car running fine and legal for under $500!!!

Looks a lot cleaner here than it did today when you brought it around
