brumby gearbox oil

as the title states i am after some advice on gearbox oil for my standard brumby, its original gearbox with 266ks
was wondering what the reccomendations are without spending a small fortune and how much i need in terms of literage

A SAE 80W-90 oil and 3.0 ltrs

and if I was you , try get some of Nulons additive for rejuvenating oil seals to soften the front seal especially. There is a specific additive and it is not G70

is this the gearbox conditioning stuff?

they stopped making it they only have the G70 or their blend of gear oils with additives.
even wynns use to make a good one, don't any more not here any ways
still be using the G70 but

I'd just drop some standard gearbox oil in it, there's no point spending more money than you need to, it's not a high performance gearbox after all.
Or you could go for a LSD grade oil, I did this with my box and found that it's changed smoother since. The fellas at my local parts joint know I 4wd and reckoned it was going to be a better oil for the heat that can be generated in the slow stuff. From memory it was another couple of dollars but in my book worth it!

Just off the phone Nulon techos - the Nulon additive is ESL, short for engine stop leak - add 60ml of ESL per litre of oil capacity of manual gearbox only. The chemistry lends the technology of auto tranny fluid of keping all their seals and O rings supple.

thanks guys for the suggestion i will go to repco and have a look at the oils for comparison
bennie i dont think i need the lsd oil as i very rarely 4wd in the brumby and most of its time is spent at 100kmh but thanks for the suggestion!

that's good to know, have to have a look for it next time doing the oil changes
