Hi all,
a couple of weeks ago i went up to stockton and had a good fang around, but i got sand EVERYWHERE!. so much so that the springs on the carbie jammed up and secondary was open for half the day. Anyway, the clutch release lever dust boot had perished pretty badly and i suspect that heaps of sand has gotten in, because whenever you disengage the clutch the whole thing squeaks and vibrates. Its gotten a little worse today as it virates heaps. I've tried cleaning it with compressed air, WD40 and even grease on coathanger wire but it doesn't seem to affect it. Anyone got any suggestions/ had this happen before? and is there a way of cleaning the thrust race without takin the motor out and clutch off?

The only way to fix your problem properly is to pull the motor and clean or replace the thrust bearing. However you could try and drown the clutch with degreaser and then hose it out it may help but i think it would damage more than it would be worth.
