Brumby Diff lock

Hey Guys,

posting this for a mate who doesn't do the whole forums thing, I did some searching on here but couldn't find much info

car is a 91 Brumby and he is wondering if any sort of Diff lock exists for them?

Happy to stay with stock 3.9 ratio but would go to a 4.11 if need be.

Is there an aftermarket kit or anything similar out there?

Cheers
Joel

There is no Air Locker type diffs available for them but you can fit an LSD in the rear. You can use the RX Turbo Leone rear diff (just change the centre into his diff) as these are Plated LSDs and work very well. There might be a 1 or 1.5 way diff available for the front but can't be 100% sure. Centre diff is full lock when in 4WD so no need to change anything there.

The brumby doesn't have a centre diff - rather a centre coupler to engage the rear end when in 4wd.

There is a rare L series 5spd AWD gearbox with a locking centre diff. If he's into offroading with lots of on road use and he cares about it's onroad handling then this gearbox might be of use after swapping the low range to the stock NA L series low range (1.59:1 as opposed to 1.19:1).

I hope this makes sense.

Cheers

Correct.. it doesn't have a centre diff as such but it's easier to explain it the way I did.
