L Series RX clutch V's non turbo clutch

Post by steptoe » Mon May 22, 2006 11:08 pm

We now know the pedal box in RXs are different to non turbo EA82 L Series pedal boxes. Were the clutches heavier from factory ?

Some have already said the Daikin or RPM clutch kit number 397 is satisfactory in both (I think ?)

The turbo clutch cable has a heat shield

Other known differences ?

daikin is waht I had in my old one. works well and its still the weakest part of the driveline so it wont destroy boxes . theres a difference is size between 2 & 4wd. unsure about the rx vs 4wd though.

do you still need that shifter assy? (pm me.)

From what I can gather the 4wd and RX clutch are the same. Even the wrx uses the same disk as an RX, just a different pressure plate and flywheel.

Give me a couple of weeks to find out the hard way, but I am sure the EJ clutch is a larger diameter with beefier splines on the input shaft. I'm pulling out my EA82 some time soon and replacing it with my EJ20G, so I'll have them side by side at one point...

Isn't the EA82 clutch 225mm and the EJ20G one 230mm?

The EJ clutch plate is exactly the same diameter and has the same splines as the L Series, even the EJ20T is the same size.
