Which gasket was fixed? Head gasket, water pump gasket, rear oil plate gasket??
If you've done your head gaskets did you get new inlet manifold gaskets?
Also, if you've had the battery disconnected you need to leave the engine to idle to sort out it's idle. Don't touch anything for about 5 minutes, you should note the idle goes up and down before it settles.
If you have had the battery disconnected and didn't leave it to sort the idle, disconnect the battery again, leave for at least 30 minutes then reconnect and start the engine without touching the throttle.
Cheers

Did you remove the centre console to get to the gear shifter? If so, check that you connected all the plugs back together
