Never heard of this before. You sure someone hasn't retro fitted an ea82 intake manifold to the EA81 you saw at the parts yard?

I'm 99.9% sure all factory EA81's came with the stock ea81 intake manifold, not an EA82 unit.

reckon I have seen three different sizes of EA81 intakes and is about the mouth below carb and word once was the later EA81 had same size bolt pattern as EA82 if they were different at all ??

Ah so only the bolt pattern for the carb, not the actual intake manifold. Sounds plausible.

Might have to look into it - although finding a late model brumby in the yards is rare these days!

Sunnie the brumby, an '88 built brumby with the black rocker covers cannot fit an ea82 carb without an adaptor plate. Found that out the hard way :evil:

EA81 come with small or large bolt pattern for the carby but the manifold itself are all the same. If you have a smaller one, it's EA71
