Leaky cam plug

Post by Joel » Sun Aug 17, 2014 2:03 pm

Hi Guys,

Got an oil leak that is frustrating me.
There is some sort of plastic plug on the back of #4 head (gen1 EJ22) and ever since my heads were recond it has leaked but its getting worse.

I havent had much luck finding info on this problem just always the cam belt end seals leaking instead.
Has anyone else had this problem and replaced the seal themselvse?
the opposite side has a metal shield over it so not sure if its a proper oil seal or just an Oring,
I'm wondering if the seal wasn't installed properly when the heads were rebuilt.
It never leaked like that prior.

Any advice is greatly appreciated,
Cheers, Joel
